The Penang Botanic Garden is located in Georgetown in Penang, near Tanjung Tokong and close to Gurney Drive. It’s a famous place not only in Penang but throughout the country. The Botanic Garden is ideal for recreation, relaxation, peace and tranquility. You can hear the sound of waterfalls gushing from their source in the hills and the chatter of monkeys in the background.
The Penang Botanic Garden is truly a place that brings you closer to nature. Not only do joggers love to exercise here, kids and senior citizens also love to hang around here in the morning as well as evening for leisure activities. There are also all sorts of activities being held here annually. Activities such as the International Flora Fest is an annual popular event here.
The Botanic Garden is decently big in terms of land size. It will probably take you an hour or so for strolling the entire garden. Therefore, if you’re too lazy to take a stroll, you can take a train ride for only RM2 to enjoy a view of the gardens with its beautiful landscape filled with various flora and fauna. The train service is available from 7am to 7pm. Admission to the Penang Botanic Garden is free.
